Angelique is a painter and sculptor with professional experience in both the United States and in Europe. She has extensive skills in many areas of visual arts, both large and small scale. Her preference is painting, especially in oils. She also uses acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, pen and ink, Chinese lacquer and mixed medium patina effects for her installation work, costume design and for cinema decor. Her sculptural mediums include bronze casting and finishing, ceramics, gypsum cement, plastilina clay modeling, mold making, polyurethane foam sculpture and resin casting.
Angelique’s painting has most recently been shown at The Marin Museum for Contemporary Art where she won first place for her entry in the Fall National Juried Exhibition.
She has lived in Brazil, Norway and France. Five years were spent in Paris working in cinema set production as a freelance sculptor and painter under the direction of Big Boing, Paris. Some of her clients included Les Versailles Special Effects, Europa Corp., Hugo Films, Les Films Manuel Munz, C. Flechner Films and Penninsula Films. She has also acted as studio assistant painter and sculptor for the renowned French artist Loius Cane, for the English imaginary realist painter, Robert Bissell and for the California sculptor Mario Chiodo.
Her illustrations have won several prestigious awards. The illustration for a middle grade novel, Sarah’s Waterfall (Safer Society Press) won the 2010 NAPPA Award – Parenting Resources Category for Overall Design and Appeal, the 2010 Mom’s Choice – Gold Award and the 2009 Skipping Stones Honor Award in the Teaching and Parenting Resources category. Angelique’s illustration has also been used by U.S companies such as Portal Publications, American Puzzle Factory and Master Pieces. In France she worked as a freelance illustrator for the children’s magazines Oui Oui, Le Monde d’ Henri Dès, and Heidi under the direction of Cobra SAS, Neuilly Sur Seine.
